Pharrell Williams recording I AM OTHER theme

 As some of you may know I Am Other is Pharrell’s new brand name/ multimedia company & record label featuring young artists such as Buddy… Well this is footage of a theme for the brand being orchestrated & shows some of the creative process & the humble reaction from Pharrell himself to all the people who have helped piece it together. Can’t wait to hear what the final version sounds like, looks like a lot of work has been put in so it should be ill.

Williams composed the mixed-genre orchestral work—which features soft and ethereal atmospheres contrasted with fortissimo brass themes and driving rhythms—to explore a different side of his musical creativity, and to encourage his hip-hop fan base to expand their musical horizons. Shelly Berg orchestrated and conducted the work, and Director of Recording Services Paul Griffith (B.M. ’83) was the recording engineer
